Mmmm, banana bread! (again)

You cannot believe how good this banana bread smells right now!

Dreams do come true- we met Cinderella!

Wow! Not even summer yet!

Wow! Not even summer yet!

Damn! I missed the Rapture today

Apparently, today was predicted to be the day that Jesus returned to earth to claim the souls of faithful followers.  If it happened, it appears I didn’t make the cut.  Bummer!

With every intention of going out in style, I’ve imbibed a few alcoholic beverages.  I plead the 5th when it comes to the exact number, but in the course of having dinner with some of my favorite in-laws  (outside.  With birthday cake.  And a fire pit.  good times!) it has come to my attention that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) would like me to be prepared for the event of a zombie apocalypse.

Yes, you read that right, a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.

I have to admit, I am decidedly NOT prepared for such an event, but as the result of the aforementioned imbibing, I can really see nothing but humor in this situation.  It has to be a joke, right?  Someone at the CDC playing a little belated April Fool’s joke on us all, right?

Right?  Please say you agree with me, and that you’re not actually preparing for an actual ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.  Gosh, I can barely type it without laughing!

At least I know if you’re reading this, I’m in good company with the rest of the people who weren’t called up to Heaven today…

Shoeper Challenge 23 of 59 (American Eagle for Payless)

Hey, look!

A shoe challenge post that’s actually current again.  Posted on the same day that I wore the shoes being “saved” in Shoeperwoman’s shoe challenge!  What a novel concept.

This is what I wore on this rainy, gray, damp day in May.  I mixed my black & white patterns, as you can see, with the quasi-houndstooth on the shoes (it’s actually more like a star-shaped pattern), and the floral tank sweater.  Not exactly adventurous, but slightly less boring than how I normally dress.

I took advantage of the rainy day to wear my glasses too, but for kicks, I took another picture modeling the gorgeous hat that I got for Mother’s Day.  What do you think?

Did you know I have Moonlit Eyes?

She also seems to think that I have red hair.  And that I’m less stinky than eggs.  What a relief!   LOL

I hope all of you reading my little corner of the internet here had a wonderful Mother’s Day. Mine was very nice, only dampened by the fact that we had to visit my dad in the hospital, and he obviously couldn’t join us for dinner out. I’d also like to share this photograph of the gift Veronica made for me. She’s been learning about “acrostic” (sp?) poems in school, and made this one for me, as further evidence that she is a kind, sweet, and thoughtful daughter. At least when she’s not acting like a crazy person. 😉

Personally, I’d never heard of acrostic poems before, but in case you can’t read it, mine reads:

Moonlit eyes
On top of things
Times together are fun
Hundreds of hearts are in you
Eggs are stinky but you are sweet
Rose is what your name should be.

All together now, awwwwwwww!
